I along with two co-workers have also experienced extreme wear/damage to the hood of our 2007 Altima's. While getting estimates at local body shops they too expressed that they have seen this issue numerous times occurring with this vehicle and states the paint job wasn't properly done.

A car this age which has been protected in a garage and well-maintained should not experience paint fading. While at one of the body shops, there was another 2007 Altima with this same hood issue. There are numerous complaints on line of people dealing with this same problem. I don't understand how Nissan will not back up there product and listen to the consumers and resolve the issues.

It is clear it is a manufacturing problem they should address to keep up their image. I've always been a fan of Nissan's and have well respected their products until this issue.

The owner of the body shop stated he hate to have to charge me to correct this problem when in fact it's something that Nissan should cover. Can we all get together and collectively contact Nissan?

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $500.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

Location: North Carolina, United States

Same here, I owe a 2007 black Nissan Altima. The hood, trunk and roof are all faded.

I contacted their consumer affair office. The decline to fix it due to over dated warranty.

I am noticing a lot of complaints. I don't think they understand how many people are affected by this.

I'm shopping for a new SUV. I was leaning heavily toward a Nissan Murano but after everything I've read about Nissan paint and seeing "bad spots" on the hoods of vehicles I've seen on the car lots and in used car photos from various dealerships, I've decided to move along in my research and leave the Nissan off the list.

Thanks to everyone who gave us the heads up. Best of luck in your NEXT car purchase.

I along with 2 other co workers are experiencing faded paint on hood along with it going down the side of the 2007's. Nissan should definitely listen to the consumers and take responsibility.

I've seen several others on the road with the same issue and even saw one hood totally rusted..dark brown!!! I have went to body shops as well and they too says it is clearly a defaulted paint job and they were familiar with this occuring.
