The air compressor clutch failed on my 2009 Nissan Altima with only 52,000 miles on it. The cost to repair it is $1000.00 and Nissan has refused to cover the cost of repair because they say that my car is "outside of its warranty parameters." Two reputable mechanics have informed me that it is unheard of for a car with such low mileage that has been impeccably maintained to have a air compression clutch failure.

Nissan is not willing to look beyond the warranty parameters and see this as an ethical, good business, customer service issue. They are basically saying that even if the mechanics of the vehicle fall apart after the warranty period, Nissan will not stand by its vehicle. Do you want a vehicle that is going to fall apart after less than five years with only 52,000 miles on it?

If not, don't buy NISSAN!!!!!! You want a manufacturer that takes pride it its product and will take care of issues beyond the "warranty parameters" if there is an obvious unforeseen defect in their product.

Review about: Nissan Car.

Monetary Loss: $1300.

I owned two Nissans, both covered under extended warranties. Nissan refused to accept responsibility for the defects with either vehicle warranty or not.

I wasn't cheap! I ended up dumping both vehicles and taking a Hugh loss. DON'T BUY NISSAN. .

What's even more amazing is you are posting a pic/video of yourself. I would be embarrassed if I were you for posting such an ignorant story about the price you pay for being CHEAP & not buying an extended warranty.

You are not ethical or educated for that matter...you cannot hold Nissan liable for a part that failed outside of the 3 year/36K Warranty that came with the vehicle. You had the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty but obviously didn't or you would not be in this position.

We own 2 Nissans & they are awesome but they are machines & machines do break which is why both of ours have 8 yr 120K $0 Deductible Warranties. Quit whining. There is no guarantee with any vehicle of any manufacturer that it will be 100% trouble free.

How dare you point the finger at Nissan for your bad decision to not purchase a warranty to protect your investment. You are the problem, not Nissan.

What is it you don't understand about warranties? ALL manufacturers have limited warranties.

You probably had the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty- it adds just a few dollars to your payment and well worth it. Remember that for next time.

50+ miles is about half the life of a vehicle. It is a mechanical device - it is imperfect.
