Nissan in Eagle River, Alaska - Exploding Murono Sun Roof

3.0
Details
My wife was driving to work today and she had an explosion of the sun roof in her 2013 Murono/Platinum. here were no other cars near her yet the dealer told her it was hit by a stone or rock. There was no debris from anything but glass. After some on line research it appears this is a reoccurring problem since 2009. The temperature was 20 degrees outside and the Murono had been parked outside over night. Based on the lack of concern by the Nissan dealer and the numerous reports of the same defect looks like we will get rid of this car.

Nissan says tough luck!

The moon roof on my 2009 Nissan Murano exploded also! The glass blew out if the car and Nissan is saying I must pay $1300 To fix it and insurance will not cover any of it! Does not seem fair as it just exploded as I was driving! The sound was deafening like a gun shot. My ears hurt for about 15 minutes after. Luckily I didn't lose control of the car and cause an accident. This is a very dangerous situation and it is unfair that I am left with a hefty bill to pay! The weather was cool but not a cold day. the dealer is saying that they have never had a complaint and that I must have had a rock chip it, but I did not. Not only is the dealer and manufacture not taking responsibility but my insurance provider is not covering any of the cost. Insurance appears to be legalized theft!

Another Nissan Rogue with bad transmission

1.0
Details
I bought a new 2008 Rogue in March of 2008. It had the well documented transmission grinding noise. It took Nissan 20 months to produce a "fix" for this. They did extend the transmission warranty to 120K miles. However, mine blew up in four lanes of interstate traffic with just 133K miles on it. This cost me $1000. I hate seeing people paid more. I will never - EVER - by any other Nissan product as long as I live. Because of the previous issue, I requested Nissan reimburse me the 1000.00. Of course they said no. They said they had contributed 3000.00 already. The dealer mentioned this but I didn't believe them. Then I asked if 3000.00 was actually sent to the deal and they responded that information was proprietary. If you good the tranny it runs about 1000.00 retail. Dealers do not pay retail. My theory is the 1000.00 more than covered the parts and labor and Nissan did jack squat. Again, I'll never touch a Nissan product ever again.

Nissan - Try and find a 2014 Sentra 1.8 S MT for $12,499 CND

Try and find a 2014 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S MT for $12,499 CND as advertised "2014 Sentra 1.8 S MT with a $4200.00 CDN discount you pay only $12,499" Ya just try and find one sucka. What a scam. Nobody has one. Should have seen it coming. Just a scam to get you in to the store so they can sell you something you don't want. Shame on you. What a waste of my time. Some government watch dog should keep an eye on these people. Tried six places already. So what did they do give each Dealer one so they could sell it to a friend or relative? SCAM

Transmission failure on 2008 Nissan Rogue

1.4
Details
Why I will never own a Nissan product again and why you shouldn't either! On Monday, October 20th the transmission on my 2008 Nissan Rogue failed in four lanes of Eastbound traffic in Burlington, NC. Fortunately, my wife and I were able to get the car off the highway before we lost momentum. This car had a known transmission issue. The company released a software update to correct a grinding noise in transmission in 2009. So, the car was driven with a grinding noise in the transmission from March 08 when the car was purchased to November 2009 when the repair was finally made. They extended the warranty to 120,000 miles on the transmission to allay fears. Yet, my transmission catastrophically failed with just over 133K miles. Coincidence? I requested reimbursement of the $1000.00 I paid for a new transmission and they said they had helped enough because they covered $3000.00 of the repair. When asked if money actually changed hands they said that was proprietary information. So, they stuck me for $1000.00 to replace a transmission with a known issue and probably didn't even send the dealership any money. Personally, I thought my request was small considering I am young enough to purchase several more new cars in my lifetime and i thought they may like return business. Obviously, they do not. Nissan is now and will be forever more on my do not buy list.
